I hope you guys enjoyed the previous post on How To Dress: Triangular Body Shape because today I’ll be talking about How To Dress: Inverted Triangular Body Shape, which is the exact opposite!
As I said in the previous post, the volume in the triangular body shape is all in the hips, where the inverted triangular has all the volume on the shoulder and bust! Which means we’ll have to balance the body again by adding more volume to the hips, and defining the waist.
Just imagine the top part of the body as an inverted triangular shape, and that we have to transform the bottom part of the body to a triangular shape as well, which leaves us with a perfect balanced hourglass shape!

- Tops with dark colors
- Wrap-style tops
- Shirts and jackets that are tailored
- Tops with banding at the waist
- Narrow v-necks
Best Selection of Bottoms for an Inverted Triangular Body Shape:
- Brighter colors
- A-Line or full skirts
- Pants with embellished pockets
- Boot cut or wide legs
